The First Two Weeks

Things are going very well here... we are all adjusting to new sleep schedules and the like.

Isaac has accepted his new brother with very few problems - although he is definitely becoming a two-year-old. He is helpful with burping, hugging, and kissing, but occasionally forgets to be careful with the baby. He is currently focused on learning his letters and numbers and surprises us pretty often by correctly answering a question that we didn't expect him to know.

Gabriel is doing great. He has had some virus or other almost since birth, but is really doing well despite that. We figure once he gets rid of the latest cold he's going to think this whole life thing is a breeze. Gabe's not a fussy baby, and somehow manages to sleep through complete chaos. Which we really appreciate. :)

Fall and Winter

Hello everyone. We've been slacking on this, but here is an update for fall and winter. Isaac is doing very well - loves making animal sounds even if he can't say some of their names yet. We have had a disagreement or two about what sound a pig makes. Its a very funny position to be in! :) Isaac is also really enjoying church because he gets to play with other kids in the nursery. Otherwise... We're still not sure how other parents manage to get their toddler to sit still. Pictures are even a challenge because he is always in motion....

Isaac got to go to a pumpkin patch... Apparently the mushy pumpkins are best. :)

Picking out and decorating our Christmas tree.

There has been quite a bit of snow this year and Isaac loves it. The good news is that he will actually wear a hat if its cold enough outside! Exciting for us since he has refused almost since birth...

Its Been a Year!

Isaac is now one year old. We had a small party for his birthday. He got to have cupcakes for the first time... He wasn't really sure what to do with them to begin with, but soon got the picture. :) He received several gifts that he was very excited over. (Thank you everybody) Monthly update: He is getting very independent and now prefers to feed himself. In other words, he would rather go without food than have someone else feed him. Makes for messy and funny meals. He also has said (is often saying) his first word -- kitty -- although it sounds more like "gitty." Now I always know when one of the cats has entered the room.
